Names of dance music magazines with regular cover-mount CDs on sale at WS Smith about ten years ago? I am looking for the name of a music magazine that was around about 10 years ago that had covermount CD with some trail dance music making software on it along with loop samples, tutorials etc, etc. I am actually looking for the name of the software that came in one of the CDs. Why are all types of dance music called techno in america? So in Europe, we have all our different types of dance music; trance, hard dance, house, techno etc. I'm not even going to try and name them all. But every time I hear anyone from America talking about dance music, it's just techno. I don't think they even call it dance music, it's all techno. I listen to hard dance, (which sounds nothing like techno) and a friend of mine was in America and put on a hard dance CD, and they all said, oh techno. Why is this? In Europe if they didn't know what type of music exactly it was, they'd say oh dance music. Techno is different altogether, one type of dance music, I don't understand why it's all called Techno in America. Maybe there's Americans who know the difference, but I've never heard. I'd like to see though:)

Lots of vocal tracks; lots of so-called uplifting tunes that are more annoying than uplifting; an attempt to sound retro, or soulful or disco-like (no offense to Hed Kandi and naked Music, but everybody is copying them!) etc. This is a question for dance music fans. I'm not asking for a thesis on why/ how people do business in the industry. I'm just wondering if dance music fans have noticed this trend. Help I need some examples of really well mastered dance music? I make dance music/ hard breakbeat as a serious hobby. A trick that some producers do is find examples of music that sounds really clear and crisp in terms of sound quality and mastering. Then they compare the music made by themselves with the sound quality of the professionally mastered music. By doing this you can dramatically improve the sound quality of your own productions. The problem is that all the well mastered music that I keep finding isn't in the same gender as the music I make. Could anyone recommend some pop music for my preschooler? PLEASE, NO DISNEY!!!? I am looking for some pop music for my three and a half year old daughter. I'm so, so fed up of her Pop Jr CDs. My problem is this. Most of the music I own is a bit, erm..., adult, so I need to find something a little less morose, a little less noisy and a little less rude. Whatever you decide upon will need to satisfy the following criteria: 1) The music should be fun and upbeat, but not so over happy that my teeth will start to itch. 2) No profanity or adult themes please. She is three and a half remember. 3) PLEASE! NO DISNEY! So no spawn of Billy Ray Cyrus, Jonas Bros. or Musical High School. Or for that matter anything to with Bratz, Barbie or any other tie-in animated character. I'm trying to cultivate an interest in music beyond product placement. 4) A fun animated video you can watch on Youtube would be a bonus. 5) The genre of music isn't important. Really, it isn't. So far she has heard (and liked) pop punk, dance music, ska and the more obvious top 40 stuff. The acid test is this... If you can imagine yourself driving in your car singing along to your choice of song without feeling intense embarrassment when you are stopped at traffic lights, then I'm interested. The reason why I stipulated 'No Disney' is because I know that there is lots of fantastic music out there and there is no real need to pander to or patronise her nascent musical tastes. The profanity thing only occurred to me when I realised that 'clean' versions of certain songs often sound like Norman Collier's broken mike act. Keep the suggestions coming!

EAsy 10 points : dance project question ? ok i have to do a dance routine for gym class. i am ina group with 3 ppl. I am in competitive dance so i take dance and other gym class more serious than some ppl in my group. Im like a A student so i have to keep my average up. BWE we were originally doing the song to freeze by chris brown and t-pain but now after about 4 or 3 gym periods one person says i dont like that song . What kind of music and who? Hi, well im throwing a suprise birthday party for my girlfriends 18th. Now when we have parties or get togethers she usually does the cds but as this is a suprise obviously i cant ask her or she wil get very suspicious. Reception Music Help? We will be having a guitar soloist perform the ceremony and most of the reception, however, once he is dismissed, we are going to be playing CDs.
