Dance Music CDs

How would you say dance music has changed within the generations?

I need to analyse the dance music in the: 1920's- 1950's 1960's- 1970's 1970's- 1980's 1980's- 1990's 1990+ and mention how it has changed throughout these years. Thanks!

  1. basically the insturments have changed. Electronic insturments have taken over.
  2. music has changed alot over the years i think now its more hardrock and metal and in the early 1900 it was soft and rock didnt exist nor metal. even countrie is starting to die and that was one of the most popular janras ever.
  3. 20's to 50's was the start of things. 60's to 70's got more beat and was becoming better. 70's to 80's were very good years, with more tune style. the 80's were the best years for music, and in my veiw is the best kind of music there is. 90's got more popish and became heavier in rock, and gave way to all genres there are out there. as for past the 90's things have gotten way louder.
  4. Consider how social dance up until the 50's was very partner oriented and in the 60's or 70's it became more of a solo activity.
  5. Wikipedia has a ton of stuff on dance. Try searching the names of various dances of the time (e.g. Charleston, Jive, Disco, Hip Hop, Break dancing, etc). One of the most important things to note is how many dances evolved, and how they influenced other dances. e.g. Disco had an influence on hip hop (who knew?!?). Good luck!
