Dance Music CDs

What of type latin music is better when it comes to dancing mexican or Salsa/Merengue?

I have personally witnessed people dance both types of music. To me there was no comparison. The tropical style blew that hat dance stuff away. The passion and sensuality of tropical music really makes you want to dance. The mex music makes you want to cover your ears and go home. What do you all think??

  1. i think both kinds are an assault on the ears. its like that scene in the blues brothers "We got both kinds, country and western" . wonderful, you have 2 different flavors of shit
  2. I'm with you on this one. No offense to anyone who likes Mexican music, but it's friggin' annoying. I love to dance salsa, to me, it's an art form, as well as Mambo and Tango.
  3. I agree with you. There is nothing like Salsa and Merengue. The reason is that it's all derived from a culture that is so diverse. Mexicans aren't diverse and they take their musical influence from German Polka. Mix Spanish, Indian and African together, you get great music that is loved by all, including non spanish speakers and every other country.
  4. Mexican music is repulsive. No one listens to it but other Mexicans(Im part but I cant stand it). Thats not music. I hate the accordion! Its irritating. Im sure we'll get called RACIST for saying we cant stand their music but whateverrr.lol
  5. There is no such thing as "Mexican Music" just like there is salsa and merengue there is tejano, rancho and mariachi.. For you to say that its all "annoying" is not racist its being ignorant.. Think of all the genre's that there are in the world.. And yes I am mexican but I'm married to someone who is Puerto Rican and I have "white" ppl in my family along with everything else.. Ppl adapt to their environments and if your not used to listening to it then you wont understand it.. Seeing that its all in Spanish all you really hear is the accordians or w.e. you dont listen to/understand the words and after all isnt that why ppl listen to the music that they do.. Because of the message or lyrics of a song?
