Is there are a difference between electro dance music and dance music?

Because Drum and Bass is a type of electronic dance music, but is electronic dance music just what we think of today as dance music or is there a difference ?

1. I think of Electro Dance Music as something like Owl City, but if it's just Dance Music, I think it could be like Lady Gaga or something. idk, just my opinion
2. Dance music is a main genre in itself, split up into sub-genres. Drum n Bass and Electro are sub-genres of Dance music.

4. Electronic Dance Music (EDM) is a subset of Dance music. All dance music is EDM. EDM is such a large genre it often gets counted as the same level of genre as dance.
