What songs are essential to a big dance party?

I am having a birthday party pretty soon and I can't get a DJ this time. So I am wondering what kind of music I need. I have the basics, like the stuff on the top 10. But what are some good danceable songs that everyone knows? Not like ballroom dancing but...freaking grinding tworking (lol) all of the above? Whatever. I don't know what to call it. But you knoww. Party Dancing. Anyway. Just give me a list of songs.
